Merry Christmas

Agent of the month could see a new name added to the list. nict is slowly building a lead with pebble and jellyneck closely following.

If you haven't already, please download the Onion Bag Christmas podcast. Duffman and I have written (with some help from Johnny Pundit) and perform our version of A Christmas Carol. It's a about 20 minutes long - if you get past 10 minutes of our acting you could be due a points bonus in the game!

Have a good Christmas - remember the game runs every day and with all the football over the period there'll be plenty to play for.

Stars on Sunday

This weekend has the first of two so-called Grand Slams this season - a weekend where the Big four enjoy the pleasure of playing with themselves.

Logic would suggest that this could mean players from other clubs would get a look in on the points seeing as There's nothing else to talk about. But no doubt, the media's fevered anticipation over the big Sunday fixtures will still manage to eclipse actual events at the likes of Fratton Park or Craven Cottage.

Didier Drogba has been in the points over the last few days having gone under the knife at the weekend. He's been selected in the Ivory Coast squad for the African Cup of Nations so we can expect the spotlight to be firmly trained on him over the next few weeks, as a nice club v country argument will no doubt start to boil.

I can't see other players in the tournament doing any better in the game - it's not an event that grabs a huge amount of attention in the press (sad but true). The points will start coming in though once Arsene Wenger, Avram Grant and Harry Redknapp start moaning about all their players being dragged away in the middle of the season.

Return of the king

With his first Agent of the Month title since March, quizking takes November and makes a strong start to December.

How do they do it; to be honest, I haven't a clue. If I did I'd be up there with them instead of languishing on the Bartelski line.

Press attention seems determined to stay away from players; the inescapable lure of England manager debate and speculation, crowding out the occasional Joey Barton gripe or new kid on the block Florent Malouda, an FFA star in the making.

Even the police camera action from last week didn't involve any current Premier League players (to my knowledge anyway), so we're left with action on the pitch doing the business for us. Thankfully, the games come thick and fast this month so there should be plenty of games to go around.

Of course, the game runs throughout Christmas - yes, Zen even publishes scores on Christmas Day - there really is no rest for the wicked.
